So long My bad!

So, first off I would like to scold myself for skiving off on my duties as a recent Blogger. And also call Kinky, Tesha, and Kelsey unto repentance as well! Come on girls! I need to know whats happening in your lives!
It has been a very long and interesting summer, full of twists and turns.
At the very beginning I had decided to return to Washington State and try to find a job there, settle down, be near the family. However when the time came, I couldn't bring myself to leave the Shannendoah Valley. So I stayed. Thinking it would only be for the summer. Then something traumatic happened, (ok well not really that traumatic, but bad enough for me and my pathetic life) and my plans were no longer so solid.
I pulled through it though, and so I stayed.

I spent a week in Maine with my good friend Kathryn Hinds, and that was a cold wet blast! But mostly I have just been working my tail end off for the school in Admissions/Annual Fund.
The weather has been so beautiful and exciting, I have never seen so many thunder and lightening storms in my entire life! SVU's very own Main Hall has already been hit this summer, and the bolt that struck it seemed as if it was right outside my house it was so loud.
Now the plan is this: Kathryn and I are both looking for jobs in Roanoke, since both of us would love nothing more to stay in the area but get out of the Beeve. After we both get jobs, then we will move down there into a shabby little cheap apartment with kindergarten nap mats for beds and boxes for tables, and rope for a closet! Should be exciting!
So wish us luck for that!

Wish Me Luck!

Ok, so I am actually taking steps towards finding a full time job here in the Beeve. I will be talking to Bob Hutch soon about replacing Leah in HR after she and Than leave. I think that I have a good chance so long as they don't already have the position filled. Even if they do, I think that they should kick them out and put me in! Cause guess what...? I'M STAYING HERE FOR A YEAR!!!! And to think, just 3 months ago I promised myself that I would not be one of those people, and here I am.

Finally some GOOD news

Ok, so this summer things have gotten crazy. During May I would have class for 4 hours during the day, and then I would have a few hours of fun, then off to work for 5 + hours at night. Then May became June and I no longer had class or Tesha. So it was that whole wake up way late and then go to work at night for 5 + hours. Miserable existence I know. Until a little birdie, aka Jessica Epperson and Bekah Pence, gave me a sweet opportunity! Bekah told me to talk to Jessica about subbing for the local high schools, so today I went to Rockbridge County High School and turned in a resume and references. And guess what?! They said that I'm now on their list of Substitute Teachers!!! Yay!! She also told me to try to get in with the Buena Vista school district, so I went by there afterwards and picked up an application! So hopefully soon I will be getting calls left and right to sub for Secondary school kids, makin (hopefully) $25/hr! That would be pretty sweet, no?! Holla!

Sleeping, PJ's, unproductive mornings, oh my!

I've been enjoying not having to take classes so much, however since I am not taking classes, I have very little to fill my day with. Everyone is either gone, working during the day, or taking classes. So, I have been doing something that I do not fully enjoy...sleeping. Yuck, today I got out of bed at 12:56! Yuck, I cannot stand sleeping in so late! So now I am still in my shorts and baggy t-shirt writing this, and this is the first productive thing I have done all day. I need a hobby, a job, a life!

Crouching Tesha Hidden Sam

You would think that in a town so small and quiet as Buena Vista, there would never be any trouble lurking around campus at night. If you are of that mindset...think again. Just a few nights ago, Tesha and I were walking about campus and decided to enjoy the wonderful things that the Student Union has to offer. Only there was one tiny problem. It was 1:00 am. Did that stop us? I dare say it did not. After making our rounds, we found a window that had been left unlocked, and were able to climb through. once inside, we army crawled across Jonezies and rushed to the elevator. Once in the game room upstairs, we found our way into the LOCKED game closet behind the desk, retrieved 2 paddles, and a ping pong, and proceeded to play table tennis in the dark. Let me tell you, that is no easy task! After we tired of that particular activity, we made our way to the back stairs where we exited and seconds later saw the SVU security guard coming back from the SU. Just in the Nick of Time I'd say! There was a smattering of other escapades, but none nearly as close to the wire as this. We truly are Crouching Tesha, Hidden Sam.
